Ample time is given for questions and answers. \n\n\n\nOur guest speaker for July will be Sheriff Tony Spurlock. Tony Spurlock was elected the 33rd sheriff of Douglas County in November 2014.\n\n\n\nSpurlock says he's honored and humbled to be elected sheriff. He says that fulfills a lifelong dream and he feels privileged to work with all of the hardworking and dedicated men and woman of DCSO who serve their community with pride and dignity every day.\n\n\n\nSpurlock has served the county for more than 33 years and brings a wealth of experience to the position. He started his career at DCSO in 1980 as a dispatcher. He then rose through the ranks\, commanding the Detention\, Patrol\, and Investigations divisions and serving as bureau chief and undersheriff. As undersheriff\, Spurlock oversaw a $48 million budget and the daily operations of 700 deputies\, civilians and volunteers.\n\n\n\nHe's a graduate of the FBI National Academy\, the Command Schools at the FBI\, Secret Service and DEA\, and Metro State College. Spurlock is a Colorado native and lives in Douglas County with his wife\, Stacy.
