The Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch

With more than 300 members representing more than 3,000 employees, the Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch continues to move forward with the goal of educating, supporting, and promoting local businesses and our community.

Since 2000, hundreds of local business people have had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas. The Chamber provides area businesses with community involvement opportunities while promoting their own firms.   The mission of Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch is to support the growth and success of businesses that serve the Highlands Ranch community.
With many plans for the coming years, the Chamber is confident that there will be more ways to give Highlands Ranch businesses a voice in the community.   The Chamber is a member of the Douglas County Business Alliance (DCBA) and the Southeast Business Partnership.  Together, we assist members with business related policies and issues.

The Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch is located at 300 W. Plaza Drive, Suite 225.  For more information, contact the Chamber by calling 303.791.3500 or emailing hrccinfo@highlandsranchchamber.org.

Douglas County, Colorado

Douglas County Government

The pioneer spirit, accompanied by the beauty of the mountains, foothills and plains, is gloriously evident in Douglas County.  In 1861, the Colorado Territorial Session Laws created Douglas County, named after Stephen A. Douglas, who was famous for his activism on slavery issues, the Kansas-Nebraska Act and popular sovereignty.

Originally stretching from the Rockies to the State of Kansas border Douglas County is virtually the geographic center of Colorado.  The County is approximately 844 square miles, 71 square miles of which are permanently protected land through the Douglas County Open Space Program.  Recreational areas include more than 146,000 acres of Pike National Forest, Roxborough State Park, Castlewood Canyon State Park and the Chatfield State Recreation Area.

Population estimates for January 1, 2007 show Douglas County’s population at 283,000 with a 4.5% annual growth rate. The median age of Douglas County residents is 33.7, and one third of the population is under the age of 19. Current data from the U.S. Census Bureau show Douglas County having the lowest share (4.6%) of seniors, persons aged 65 and over, of any County in the Denver Metro Area, yet seniors are expected to comprise nearly 20 percent of the population by the year 2030.

The County’s strength, as the centerpiece of the Denver/Colorado Springs development corridor, is a perfect blend of quality lifestyle and business environment.

The County’s vision, “Setting the Standard of Excellence in Local Governance,” is continually top of mind for County leadership. And while service delivery is one primary role for Douglas County government, it is only one aspect of a total problem-solving approach to governance that requires citizen engagement for total effectiveness.

Douglas County, Colorado

Douglas County Sheriff

The Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement, investigative and detentions functions throughout the County. In addition, we provide communications dispatch services for eight fire departments that serve both Douglas and Arapahoe County.
Our policing objective is to help unite the community with public safety professionals so that we may all work together to solve and prevent crime, resolve problems with increasing effectiveness, and provide for the diverse public safety needs of our community.
By working together as a community, the men and women of the Sheriff's Office want to provide the highest possible level of service to all citizens and visitors of Douglas County. We will continue to ask the citizens of Douglas County for their ideas and input on how we can better serve them, we value everyone's input.

LEADERSHIP * INTEGRITY * SERVICE EXCELLENCE is a pledge by the men and women of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to continually strive to ensure the public's safety through a renewed emphasis on community policing, partnerships, and continuing our dedication to the safety of our children, schools, neighborhoods, and businesses.
