Metro District of Highlands Ranch
The Metro District of Highlands Ranch is the local government in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Seven elected board members represent the citizens of Highlands Ranch. The Metro District is committed to providing quality municipal services while managing resources wisely for the community. Those services include construction of major roads, installation and maintenance of landscaping adjacent to major roads, installation of traffic signals and street lights on major roads, construction and maintenance of parks and trails, management of youth and adult outdoor recreation and sports programs, management and maintenance of extensive natural open space areas, construction of storm drainage facilities, emergency and fire protection services through a contract with the City of Littleton, water and wastewater services through a contract with Centennial Water & Sanitation District, and community events and volunteer programs. Highlands Ranch Community Association
The Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA) is one of the largest and most progressive community associations in the country. This award winning association enhances property values while creating quality of life through community events and recreation and leadership. The HRCA provides covenant enforcement, architectural control, and community and cultural events. Our four first-class recreation centers and recreational programs are some of the best around and The Backcountry Wilderness Area includes nearly 12 square miles of pristine open space property. Douglas County Sheriff
The Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement, investigative and detentions functions throughout the County. In addition, we provide communications dispatch services for eight fire departments that serve both Douglas and Arapahoe County. Our policing objective is to help unite the community with public safety professionals so that we may all work together to solve and prevent crime, resolve problems with increasing effectiveness, and provide for the diverse public safety needs of our community.
